Chris Lozier - Founder

Chris Lozier helps philanthropists achieve greater social impact and personal fulfillment by combining the strategic discipline of his military service, the rigor of financial and data analysis, and more than 15 years of experience leading and improving nonprofit organizations.

Chris’s approach was forged as a U.S. Navy submarine officer, where he led teams in complex, high-stakes environments that demanded meticulous planning, operational excellence, and unwavering focus on the mission. After earning his MBA, he managed equity research at Morningstar, applying a long-term, value-oriented philosophy that reinforced his belief in the power of leadership and sustainable advantage.

Recognizing that the same rigor could elevate philanthropy, Chris founded Fathom Impact to help individuals, families, and foundations align their values, resources, and strategies for maximum impact. Fathom’s work is defined by deep analysis, disciplined execution, and true partnership—ensuring that each client’s mission and values remain at the center of every strategy.

Chris’s leadership experience includes roles such as:

  • Interim CEO at NAMI Chicago

  • COO at NewSchools Venture Fund

  • COO at the National Center for Teacher Residencies

  • COO at Civitas Education Partners

He has also advised other organizations in the education and renewable energy sectors, blending nonprofit expertise with a background in strategic finance.

Chris earned his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. He serves on the Board of Directors for NAMI Chicago, co-hosts the podcasts If You’ve Come This Far and Pour It On, and has played mandolin in the bluegrass band Hayward for nearly 25 years.

Grounded in a belief that disciplined strategy can drive both impact and joy, Chris helps his clients build legacies of meaning and measurable change. He lives in Chicago with his wife, Monisha, and their two amazing daughters.
